Women Who Buck 2020
PROJECT OVERVIEW
'Women Who Buck' challenges conventional ideas of femininity and the ways the female body is represented in dance, positioning Krump as a powerful tool for both resistance and solidarity. A collaborative work between myself and the Melbourne Zero Sessions, the video highlights a growing community reshaping the culture from within.
The Zero Sessions provide a supportive, judgment-free space for women to engage with Krump, learn its foundations, and build confidence. Founded in Sydney in 2017 by Lady Red and Nova, the movement expanded to Melbourne under the leadership of 5RNDZ, B-Gum and Kid Antagonize. Together, they fostered a strong sense of sisterhood and created an accessible pathway for women into the wider Krump community.

OUTCOMES
The video was launched at the Gertrude Street Projection Festival in 2019, where it won the Judges Award.
OPENING NIGHT EVENT- GERTRUDE STREET PROJECTION FESTIVAL
On opening night of the festival, I worked with producer Angela Barnett to create an event which featured a performance by the women Krump dancers, alongside a workshop and open session.
