Dance-O-Mat 2020
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Working with the team at Bunjil Place, I co-produced the Dance-O-Mat program to activate the outdoor amphitheatre space during the 2020 summer school holidays. My role was to engage with the dance community to facilitate and coordinate a range of events and activations.
The Dance-O-Mat concept was originally developed by Gap Filler, a Christchurch-based creative initiative, as a temporary, coin-operated public dance floor designed to activate vacant post-earthquake spaces. Featuring a washing machine that controls the lights and sound, it invites spontaneous public participation.

OUTCOMES
South East Krump session
A Krump session held at Bunjil Place featuring the South East Krump movement.

All Style Battle Event
An all style battle event featuring workshops and judges showcase performances alongside the battle main event. Judged by Pretty Ruff, Kitty Cat and David Leopolu, DJ'ing by Antagonize and MC'd by Hood.

Dancer Activation
Dancers from the freestyle community were 'planted' for various sessions throughout the Dance-O-Mat program to interact and engage with the public and to help activate the space.
